bauma partner country Indonesia trusts in Wirtgen Group technologies

This year’s partner country for bauma is the strongest economy in Southeast Asia: Indonesia, which posted growth of around 7 percent in 2012, is the third-fastest growing economic power in Asia behind China and India. Roadway construction projects are correspondingly numerous in the island nation, which relies on construction machinery from the Wirtgen Group, the global technology leader.

At the end of 2012, tenders were being invited for infrastructure projects valued at USD 800 million in Indonesia to lay the basis for further economic growth. Investments will continue to rise to over USD 200 billion by 2025.

Thanks to Wirtgen Singapore, the Wirtgen Group is close to its customers in Indonesia. "Our machines are at work in countless construction projects, as well as in coal and limestone mining. To ensure maximum customer proximity, we work with our Indonesian partner, PT Gaya Makmur Tractors. This company collaborates with us on a partnership basis, reliably helping us serve our Road Technologies customers, also providing after-sales services. Meanwhile, the Wirtgen Singapore Mining team, based in Indonesia, concentrates fully on our Minerals Technologies customers. In addition to competent applications consulting and training courses, we offer technical support in the workshop or right at the machine's place of use. Naturally, we also ensure reliable spare parts logistics. Our customers – among them PT Vita Samudera, PT Tindodi Lestari and PT Sinar Beton Perkasa – appreciate the wide-ranging support," explains Mohammad Roslee Rashid of Wirtgen Singapore.

Budi Harto Harjo Sudarmo, Director of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, is just one of many customers who rely on the perfectly tailored solutions and first-class service: "We have been working with Wirtgen machines since 2006. We greatly appreciate the reliability of the Wirtgen Group as well as the quality of the machines and the after-sales services."

In addition, Wirtgen Singapore continually maintains close contacts with the German Wirtgen Group headquarters. Customers frequently even travel to Germany to learn more about the latest technical innovations and processes at the headquarters of Wirtgen, Vögele, Hamm or Kleemann. For example, representatives of the Indonesian Roadway Construction Office and customers paid a visit to the Wirtgen headquarters in Windhagen a few weeks ago. After a tour of the plant and the production area, the delegation then had an opportunity to experience one of the machines they had just seen in production in actual use. At a construction site at the container terminal in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, they were able to witness first-hand the concrete paving performance of the SP 500 and SP 1600 slipform pavers. “Our customers were ultimately very impressed by the modern Wirtgen headquarters, its closely coordinated workflows and the live demonstration at the construction site,” said Mohammad Roslee Rashid, summarizing the feedback he received from Wirtgen’s Indonesian guests.
