Wirtgen Group will exhibit full line of products at M&T Expo 2009

Wirtgen Group technological showcase for M&T Expo, in São Paulo (Brazil), from June 2 through 6, will display the quality and the complexity of the full line of road paving, construction and recovery, in an 850m2 stand. The multinational group made up by the leading companies Wirtgen, Vögele and Hamm, from Germany, and Ciber – the only subsidiary in Latin America – will participate in the Trade Show to present its technology.

The last generation of the group is the Kompakt 500 counterflow plant, customized to be used in locations with difficult access. The Kompakt was designed, tested and manufactured in Porto Alegre (RS). Another novelty in the Latin-American market is the SP150 paver with multiple applications, which is the smallest Wirtgen sliding paver, ideal to produce all kinds of lateral monolithic profiles in concrete and plates up to 1.5 m wide. Innovations in rollers, pavers and in counterflow asphalt plants of the Advanced series will be also displayed. “It is worth to stress that the variety of the equipment line serves all road building stages”, states the CEO Walter Rauen.

Besides such novelties, the visitors will also be able to know the Latin-American departments of after-sales and the Application Engineering, which are part of the client support, and are made up by a full chain of representatives in Brazil and other Latin-American countries, operating in after-sales and in the supply of original parts, which are characterized by their productivity, security and reliability. The Application Engineering counts on experienced professionals in electronic, mechanical and civil engineering specialized in the different segments in which the company operates, and qualified to provide the technical information required by the clients.

Ciber - for asphalt mixtures, the company is launching the Kompakt series, with the plant Kompakt 500, with capacity for 50t/h, ideal for fast performance roads in rough regions. The new plant adopts advanced ergonomics and high-productivity and its compact size joins outstanding features since its assembly and installation require less time and space, and a reduced infrastructure. The equipment has been created and underwent tests for 15 months, and last generation modeling and simulation software were used, which resulted from continuous investments in Research and Development. The project took into account the need of the plant to operate in works with a difficult logistic and reduced width, allowing thus its use in locations with difficult access. The Kompakt is also being displayed in a design exhibition in São Paulo, which will be held up to June 28 in the Museum of Modern Art, and is nominated for two awards: 2nd award Idea/Brazil, the national version of the United States design award International Design Excellence Award (Idea) and for the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), the most important design award in the United States and in the world.

With regard to paving, the company is also exhibiting the AF 5000 Plus paver, with 450t/h capacity for pavements which are from 2 through 30 cm thick, and from 1.9 through 5.3 m wide, and counts on a smart automation system, which, besides providing the equipment operation diagnosis in real time, shows “on time” all the operating parameters to the operator and warns on emergency situations.

Wirtgen - the global leader Wirtgen exhibits solutions for the milling and recycling lines, such as the concrete paver SP 150, shown for the first time to the Latin-American market. This machine with multiple applications is the smallest Wirtgen sliding paver, ideal to produce all kinds of lateral monolithic profiles in concrete and plates up to 1.5 m wide. The versatility is its main characteristic, since their molds can be mounted on the left and on the right side of the machine, besides the maneuverability provided by easily operated commands. It is also exhibiting the cold stabilizer WR 2000 XL, which has an asphalt foam system and operates cold until the soil is stabilized and the pavement recycled, and reaches a 2m width, reaching 50cm of depth. The main advantage of the equipment is the microprocessed regulation system, which controls the addition of water, emulsion or oil asphalt cement (CAP), which uses asphalt foam employing the materials that make up the pavement with asphalt in a foam form. Another innovation is the cold milling machine W1000 L, manufactured by Ciber in Brazil, which is specific to remove pavements that are up to 25 cm deep and up to one meter wide. The milling machine operating depth is easy to adjust and offers high visibility of the surface to be milled and of the conveyor belt.

Vögele – world leader in the market of asphalt paves presents its most recent innovation: the compact paver on tracks Super 1300-2 that paves strips of up to 4.50 m wide. The compact design may be used in urban zones or on footways, or even on roads outside the locations where the space is reduced. The paver is equipped, as standard, with the ErgoPlus® command concept, which makes easier the machine operation.

Hamm - it develops more than 90 compacting models and invests in exclusive technologies, such as the compacting by oscillation, offered by the model HDO 90V with a circular vibratory movement: the cylinder keeps contact with the material to be compacted only during half of the operating time. The compacting by oscillation generates only 15% of the stress generated by the vibration and the forces are accurately directly to the material to be compacted. In the city, the compacting by oscillation helps, for instance, to preserve buildings and underground lines around the works. The stress on historical centers and residential buildings are decreased significantly. Another version to be exhibit is the roller model 3411, also manufactured by Ciber, which integrates the series 3000, intended to the compaction of all kinds of soils, mainly for earthworks and provides high performance in compacting works with a small number of passes, ensuring a significant decrease in the fuel consumption. The machine joins the vertical strength of its high static weight with the horizontal strength, which are typical of the “crushing” resulting from the tire deformation.
