Wirtgen Group presents sales success at the M&T Expo 2012
Wirtgen Group’s participation at the M&T Expo 2012 was excellent. The sales target, which was considered as a challenge, was exceeded in 90% and the number of equipment sold in this edition has grown over 500% regarding the event held in 2009. Of this total, 94% of sales were concentrated in Brazil and 6% in other Latin America countries.
The new asphalt plant Ciber UACF iNova 1200 P1 was a success among customers. The equipment sales represented over 70% of the total of plants sold by Ciber in the fair. Saturday, June 02, 2012, in the last day of the event, a pleasant surprise was the business done, which represented 32% of the total of business done throughout the days.
The Wirtgen Group’s president-partner, Jürgen Wirtgen, who came from Germany especially for the event, highlighted that the good number of sales is a very positive trend for the second half of 2012 and this creates optimism to the Group’s actions. “I thank the team for their commitment, work and motivation. This made it possible to achieve this result”.
Ciber’s president, Luiz Marcelo Tegon, celebrated the good sales and highlighted that this result is essential because it shows the market is exceeding the economic instability after a difficult year like 2011. “This is the result of product quality, team choices and the right strategies”.
The Wirtgen Group stand attracted much attention of those who went to the fair. During the five days of the fair, many customers and visitors went there to see up close the machines on display: Ciber UACF iNova asphalt plant, Kleemann MR 110 Z EVO mobile crusher, Vögele’s two pavers, Hamm’s six rollers, Wirtgen’s two milling machines, one recycler and one slipform paver, besides reproduction of the surface miner 4200 SM from Wirtgen brand.
The main highlight was the action chosen to present the public with the new asphalt plant Ciber iNova. The action had never been done in a fair segment: a mobile scanner passed through and simulated an X-ray. Then, people could understand the different and innovative processes that happen internally in the machine so that the asphalt is produced.
Another highlight was the sound effects. Every time a sale was completed the song “Eye of The Tiger”, soundtrack of character Rocky Balboa, was on together with the iNova plant’s siren.
On Saturday, last day of the event, the Wirtgen Group’s stand received important visitors. 40 employees from different areas of Ciber Equipamentos Rodoviários came from Porto Alegre to São Paulo to visit the fair. Many of them had never traveled by plane, which was cause for some animation and some concern for others.
The mechanic Régis Cardoso, 34 years old, was very excited about the opportunity to visit the event. “It’s a very pleasant to see what we did exhibited in this way”, he said. João Cardoso, also a mechanic, 24, said that this is an experience he will remember for a lifetime. “It is really good to see how our market is from the inside”.
